Dear Reed Families,
While summer may be just around the corner, our Raccoons are continuing to work hard and play hard, right up to the final school bell! This week our second graders presented poems for our community during their Poetry Cafe, all grade levels are cosying up and building forts in the library for their final classes, and this week will be our last Community Time Buddies of the year!
Staffing Update:
After 18 years of service to the Reed Union School Community, and almost a decade here at Reed School, Isabelle Moattar is bidding us adieu! The amazing Ms. Moattar will officially retire from her position as Senior School Administrative Assistant for Reed School this June. It is a bittersweet moment for us all, as she is part of our school’s heartbeat and knower of all the things! We will miss her terribly but are also so excited for her to set out on this new adventure called “retirement!”
Irina Boguk, who has worked in our classrooms as an Instructional Assistant, Reading Rockets instructor and ELD instructional assistant (not to mention lunch duty heroine!) will also be leaving us this summer for her family’s next adventure in Amsterdam! We will miss you and wish you the best of luck!
Joining Us Next Year:
Please join us in welcoming Ms. Heather Flores, who will be taking on Isabelle’s important position in the Reed front office alongside Juli Tantum. Heather is a Marin native with a strong background in school administration, operations, and community engagement, currently working in a cooperative preschool environment where she supports everything from HR and payroll to family communications and health and safety. She is passionate about creating welcoming, organized, and connected communities for children and families. Outside of work, Heather enjoys hiking, spending time with friends and family, and taking advantage of everything Marin has to offer. She met her husband while attending Redwood High School, and together they have raised their two children, Maizy (20) and Fletcher (19).
Arts Update at Reed Our Spring Art Night was a huge success! If you were not able to attend, the 100 pieces of student art are on display at Ground Goods (1520 Tiburon Blvd.) until Friday June 5. We still need a few more volunteers to help take down and transport the art next Friday.
Please volunteer here. Click here to see an online gallery from the photobooth that night. The password is ArtNight.
Warmly, Aubrey O'Connor & Staff |

As the school year comes to a close, let’s celebrate the incredible teachers and staff who support, inspire, and care for our children every day. From teachers and aides to principals, custodians, and administrators, each plays an important role in making our school community thrive.
To show our appreciation, we’re launching the End-of-Year Teacher & Staff Gift Fund. All donations—big or small—will be shared equally among staff as a collective thank-you for their dedication this year.
Contribute
today and help us make this end-of-year celebration unforgettable for our amazing team! Contributions are completely voluntary, and families are also welcome to thank teachers and staff individually.
