2026-2027 Reed School Calendar

Dear Reed Families,

It sounds like many families in the Reed community were THIS CLOSE to catching a mischievous little leprechaun last week! We had our fair share of shenanigans at Reed School, with painted footprints and green toilet water-yikes! We’re more than happy to usher in two less eventful, albeit busy weeks before our Spring Break (April 6th-10th).

Your staff was also hard at work during our Professional Development Day on March 16th. Thank you to our families for supporting this effort. It was a productful day of vertical articulation from PreK-8th grade around different subject area standards and preparing for upcoming revisions to our current report card.

This Friday is our annual Read Across Reed School event, and I am thrilled that I will have the opportunity to welcome community members, RUSD Board Members and special guests to our campus for a one-of-a-kind read aloud in every classroom!

Warmly,

Aubrey O’Connor & Staff

2nd grade Music Performance & Principal O'Connor on St. Patrick's Day!

Next Year

Not Returning to Reed next year? If your PreK, Kindergartener or 1st grader will not be returning to Reed School next year, please let the office know as soon as possible (reed@reedschools.org). This information is crucial in helping us plan for classroom configurations and appropriate levels of staffing. Thank you so much!

Annual Book Donation Drive

It's time for our annual book donation drive to benefit The Book Exchange of Marin ! The Book Exchange connects kids and teens from Marin's most under-resourced communities to books - a terrific community-service organization that needs our support. Our goal is to donate 5000 books this year, which is an average of 13 books per student. It's a big goal, but not too far from what we have delivered in the past!

The Need for Children and Teens: Fiction, story books, chapter books, learning/easy readers, dictionaries, encyclopedias, textbooks and test prep books for teens. Please, no adult books or cookbooks.

The Ask: Drop books in the bins placed in front of the main entry to school and front office during the week of April 20-24. Please drop off your books in paper bags if possible to allow for the easiest transportation for our drivers.

If you would like more information, please visit https://www.bookexchangemarin.org/ or email Krupa Antani (krupapantani@gmail.com), Julia Gellert (julia.a.gellert@gmail.com) or Dana McRay (danacriley@gmail.com)

Reporting a Reed School Absence

All students are expected to attend school on a consistent and on-time basis. If your child is going to be tardy, absent, or leave school early for any reason, please be sure to email OR call and notify the office:

reedattendance@reedschools.org

(415) 435-7840  extension #1

Please Provide the Following Information:

  • First and last name of your child
  • Your relationship to the child
  • Teacher's name

Appointments
If you need to pick your child up for an appointment, come to the front office and we will call the classroom. We do not pull children ahead of time, so allow extra time for us to find them. As a courtesy to the teacher, please email them so they know your child will be leaving early that day.

RUSD Mission & Vision: Each student will be challenged and inspired to reach their fullest intellectual, social-emotional and creative potential to positively impact the world.
