Dear Reed Families, Welcome back from February break!
Our Raccoons kicked off their week with a special Lunar New Year assembly led by two captivating, professional storytellers, Eleanor Clement Glass and Linda Yemoto who are active members of the Volunteer Storyteller Corps and school tour docents at the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco. The engaging presentation included three folktales highlighting different New Year traditions from many Asian countries including China, Vietnam, and Korea. It was incredible to watch our students make connections to the Lunar New year lessons they’ve been learning in the library and in their classrooms. A huge thank you to the Reed District PTA for funding the experience and for Lindsey Smith and Abby O’Leary for bringing this cultural opportunity to our school!
A new group of our adored Del Mar Leaders have joined us at Reed, and in addition, the newly formed Del Mar Art Leaders joined the ranks. Starting the week before break, Art students from Del Mar joined small groups of 2nd and 1st grade students during their morning recess on alternate Wednesdays to lead them through an optional art activity. It’s another coveted leadership opportunity for our oldest Reed students, and an opportunity for connection and aspiration for our younger Raccoons!

Book Fair Volunteers Needed The Book Fair is coming To Reed School April 20th-23rd with Family Night on Wednesday, April 22nd from 4:00-6:30pm!
We're looking for volunteers to serve as cashiers throughout the week and food servers on Family Night. It's a ton of fun to work at the book fair! Please sign up HERE.

All students are expected to attend school on a consistent and on-time basis. If your child is going to be tardy, absent, or leave school early for any reason, please be sure to email OR call and notify the office: reedattendance@reedschools.org (415) 435-7840 extension #1 Please Provide the Following Information: - First and last name of your child
- Your relationship to the child
- Teacher's name
- The reason for the absence or tardy
Appointments
If you need to pick your child up for an appointment, come to the front office and we will call the classroom. We do not pull children ahead of time, so allow extra time for us to find them.
