Dear Reed School Families,
In the spirit of the Thanksgiving Season, I’d love to express how thankful we are for the strong, caring community that makes our school such a joyful place to learn and grow. Each day, our students, staff, and families bring our school motto to life: We care for ourselves, we care for each other, and we care for our school.
Whether it’s through small acts of kindness, helping hands, or shared celebrations, our community continues to show what it means to look out for one another. Thank you for the many ways you support and uplift our school—your partnership makes all the difference.
Thank you as well to all of our Reed families for your participation in Parent/Caregiver-Teacher conferences last week. A strong, home-to-school connection is a critical component in supporting the academic and social emotional growth of all of our students.
Reminder: All Classroom Volunteer Communications Should Be Posted Via Actionaly ONLY
Please remember that Actionaly is the platform we use to organize any volunteer opportunities as well as classroom communications. It has come to our attention that some families were using WhatsApp leading up to the Halloween festivities which left teachers and staff uninformed as well as some families excluded from important communications. Thank you for remembering that Actionaly is our school and PTA sanctioned communication platform for all school events and communication. Thank you!
You can review our updated Expectations for Volunteers in our Parent Handbook. Scroll to the bottom and click on "Volunteers."
Hand US Some Hand-Me-Downs
We are looking for some extra gender neutral, loose sweatpants in sizes 4,5,6,7 and 8 for the front office to have on hand in case of accidents, water, mud or just too much…enthusiastic learning. Please deliver directly to the front office. Much appreciated!
Reed School Highlighted at RUSD Board Meeting
Student Leadership at Reed School was highlighted at last evening’s Board Meeting with some very special second grade guests sharing the spotlight. The presentation focused on how different leadership roles provide even our youngest learners with authentic opportunities to make a difference and foster a sense of belonging within a larger community. The grand finale was a special Community Time demonstration by our Second Grade Leaders. A HUGE thank you to our music teacher Ms. Carolyn Balfe for helping our Racoons prepare for their big night!
Warmly,
Aubrey O’Connor & Staff
