We want to extend a huge thank you to all the departments that have worked so hard over the summer to get our schools and classrooms ready. From setting vision, analyzing data, updating technology, improving our facilities, organizing curriculum, preparing materials and more. Your dedication has created a welcoming and inspiring environment for our students and staff. We couldn't do it without you!
Here's to a wonderful and successful year ahead!
Food Service - The Reed Union School District is pleased to announce its partnership with Dee's Organics
, a Marin County-based company. This decision was made after a selection process designed to ensure the best possible options for our students. Key factors included iterative feedback from our community via the District's Food Service Advisory Task Force, a competitive bidding process, and a taste testing event. We look forward to an improved experience.
Need Additional Services & Benefits? - The Reed Union School District participates in the National School Breakfast and Lunch Program where all students receive nutritious meals free of charge every school day. You may also qualify for additional services or benefits if your household income falls at or below certain federal income thresholds. This income eligibility is determined through an application for Free and Reduced Price Meals which may be referenced via the following LINK.
The School Bus is Ready to Welcome Students!
- Bus service begins on the first day of school (Thursday, 8/21) and we look forward to serving our RUSD families! If you purchased a pass and have not received it, please reach out to info@tiburontraffic.org
. We encourage families to please exercise patience the first few weeks of school – there will be increased traffic and a period of adjustment for our younger riders that can slow us down just a bit in the first few weeks. All parents must download a new bus tracking app (First Student 1.0) this year and reenter student information. This is our system for notifying parents of lateness or emergency cancellations, so it is imperative that parents download and use the app. Families should review the bus rules and ensure your student knows where to board and disembark. We look forward to a great year! Any remaining questions should be directed to info@tiburontraffic.org.
Enrichment Programs through The Ranch - There are still spaces open in The Ranch’s After School Programs and After School Club. Availability of all programs can be seen at @theranchtoday.org.
Wellness & Belonging Committee - RUSD believes in creating and maintaining a sense of belonging for all our students, staff and families. Social emotional learning is Pillar #2 in our Strategic Plan. This year we are looking to bring a group of interested parties together to assess current practices and help in the development of an action plan to help guide our work in this area. There will be at least 3 committee meetings this year. Please fill out this interest form if you would like to participate.
Beginning Year 2 of our Strategic Plan
- We are so excited to celebrate the successful steps taken in the first year of our Strategic Plan! We are also seeing improvements in our data when it comes to better attendance rates and increases in belonging and inclusion. In addition, we are already a high achieving academic school district which makes it more difficult to continue to show forward movement, but we did! More to come, but we’re seeing a 4-5% additional increase in English Language Arts and Math. Lots to celebrate!
