  • Safety Reporting Button - If you want to report a non-emergency safety issue, keep in mind that our website has a Safety Reporting Button. If you see something, say something.
  • First District Wide Drill is an Earthquake Drill - This year's International ShakeOut Day is October 17, when millions of people worldwide will participate in earthquake drills at work, school, or home. At 10:17 a.m. on 10/17, you can join millions of people across the world practicing earthquake safety.
  • Attendance Matters - Consistent attendance makes a difference for belonging, culture, and academic success. Check out more information here: Attendance Memo 24-25
  • Drive-Through Community Flu Shot Clinic at Bel Aire - RUSD and Kaiser will be

co-sponsoring a Community Drive-Through Flu Shot Clinic next Wednesday, October 9 at Bel Aire Elementary from 2:00-5:00 PM. The clinic is for anyone age 13 and older, and you will not even have to get out of your car to receive the shot! The flu shot will be free if you are a Kaiser member (please bring your medical card) and non-Kaiser members may later receive a bill you can submit to your insurance. Please contact Keith Woodard (kwoodard@reedschools.org) if you have any questions. We hope to see you there!

  • Parent Ed Virtual Discussions - Learn more here.

Each fall, RUSD surveys its community to better understand how our students, staff and families are experiencing our schools. Our 2023-24 Youth Truth survey results highlight many areas of success. Additionally, we have identified a few areas to focus our attention on moving into this school year, most notably, communication. The Youth Truth survey asked families to rate responses to the following statements.

  • I receive regular feedback about my child's progress.
  • I receive information about what my child should learn and be able to do.
  • Teachers clearly communicate expectations for my child's progress.

Data from family responses indicate a lower level of satisfaction (compared to other public school districts in California) regarding our schools’ lines of communication between families and schools. In order to address this, we would like to better understand what you and your family need, in addition to the most effective way for you all to receive greater information about your child’s experience at their respective school.

We ask that you take a few minutes to provide us with further information so we can better understand the communication needs and desires of our community:  Communication Survey

Best regards,
