Passion First

The students in this mindset learned about the four critical components of Passion First. As a parent, please talk to your child about what their passions are and you can use these four components to help guide and strengthen your connection.

 1. Focus on Your Strengths: Instead of focusing on your weaknesses and trying to improve them, focus on your strengths and how you can use them to reach your goals.

2. Explore Your Interests: Take the time to explore your interests and find out what drives you. Make sure to also look into topics and activities outside of your comfort zone, as this can open up new possibilities and opportunities.

3. Make a Stand: Don't be afraid to stand up for what you believe in. Make sure that your values align with your goals and don't be afraid to take a stand when you feel strongly about an issue.

4. Be Authentic: You don't have to be someone else to be successful. Being authentic and staying true to yourself is the best way to reach your goals. Don't be afraid to be yourself and be confident in your own abilities.

Hope Inc.

CMS students had an amazing opportunity to invite Hope Inc. into our school. HOPE, Inc. was founded on the belief that every child deserves to have sporting and recreational activities to participate. Bill Grommesh, the Executive Director of Hope Inc. brought his adaptive wheelchairs to our PE classes. The kids had an absolute blast and they gained a greater appreciation to students with limitations, such as being in a wheel chair.

Bill posing with Bennett. Bennett is a great student at CMS that has some limitations, but he does not let that stop him from having joy and competing!

Bill is explaining to the students and helping them understand the limitations that many people face. He talked not only about limitations that would require a wheelchair, but other limitations as well.

Hobey giving his thumbs up for approval of this great experience!

7th graders playing soccer while in a wheelchair. In this game the students could only use their hands. Many of them had a great time, but also acknowledged the difficulties this would bring if done every day.

Report Cards

Midterm report cards were sent out to all students that had a D or F. If you would like a report card sent to you, please reach out to the school and we can mail it to you.

If you need a powerschool parent account, contact the DLPS Tech department.

Daily Bulletin on Powerschool

Every week, CMS will work on updating our morning announcements for students, parents, and staff to access at any time. See the pictures on where you can find them.
