Dear Parent or Guardian,

Johnson County School District, is proud to partner with Terrace Metrics to better understand and support the resiliency and wellbeing of our students. Terrace Metrics provides research-backed tools for students in grades 5-10, providing valuable insights on how to help our students thrive now and in the future.

Research shows that resiliency is necessary to acquire the larger life skills students need for college, career, and life. These skills can include working through hardship, taking responsibility for actions, and getting along with others. We are committed to supporting every student in their overall personal development, which we know contributes to their academic success.

Consent forms are required for participation
In the coming days, you will receive an email from Actionaly, allowing you to submit a digital consent form for our Terrace Metrics survey. This form includes information about the specific indicators our district has chosen to measure. Please take the time to open the link and give your consent. It only takes a few clicks to complete.

How students participate
Participating students will take this survey online during the school day. It takes about 10-15 minutes on average.

Valuable insights
Terrace Metrics will generate parent and school reports for each student who takes the survey. This customized document provides information about your child’s resiliency in addition to relevant resources. School counselors and administrators analyze these reports very carefully and in some cases may contact you for discussion, but results are for guidance and planning purposes only, not diagnosis. We advise ALL families to opt-in. Click here to learn more about measuring resiliency and parent reports.

Responses are confidential and secure
Only parents/guardians and designated support staff may see your child’s responses. Teachers will not have access. No information from this survey will be placed into your child’s education file. We take student data privacy very seriously, click here to learn more.

Help your school community improve
Johnson County School District is proud to have the opportunity to provide such a forward-thinking approach to supporting all students. These surveys give us valuable insights into how well your child’s school is meeting student needs and what we can do to serve them better. Please reach out to your school’s counselor or administrators with any questions. We are here to partner with you, and we thank you for trusting us with your child’s safekeeping.

Sincerely,
Brooke Conley
