Dear Reed Families & Caregivers,

It was so wonderful to see so many Reed families and caregivers at our Back to School Night. A strong sense of community, enthusiasm, and joy permeated the entire campus. To continue the theme of building community, we hope to see families Thursday night between 5pm-7pm at our annual Reed Towntastic. The evening is a highlight of the year and a great way to meet new families and establish new relationships within our community.
Hope to see you there!

TOWNTASTIC

TOWNTASTIC is tomorrow, Thursday, September 28th from 5:00-7:00pm. Join us at Reed School for food, music, and fun alongside a cardboard town created by Reed students (optional). Towntastic is a fun, family-friendly community-building event where all families, caretakers, and siblings are welcome. This year's theme is “A Futuristic Tiburon.” Looking forward to seeing you there!

REED PTA WALK

Tuesday, October 10th at 8:30 a.m. (after drop off) outside the front gate

Meet fellow Reed parents and get a little exercise. Join us for a 45-60 minute walk and get to know other Reed parents, ask questions about Reed, PTA, Tiburon, etc. New families, returning families - everyone is welcome! (If weather is questionable, email ReedPTA94920@gmail.com or text 917-885-3856 to confirm)

SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL

International Walk and Roll to School Day is October 4th. Join millions around the world by walking and biking/rolling to school. There will be a welcome table with treats, incentives, and a raffle for all participants. Join our bike train from Blackie’s Pasture at 7:50am.

BUDDY UP is a contest to get students to walk (park and walk), bike, carpool or ride the bus together. Now through October 31, sign up your group of two or more students from neighboring families to travel to or from school together. Tell us your success story! Habits are more likely to stick when families support each other. There’s safety in numbers and groups are more easily seen by drivers. Best of all, friendships and fun memories are formed! There will be a $50 award for 5 winning groups. Notifications will be sent out in early November.

The PTWAY!
The first month of school is in the books and it is amazing how much the PTA has already accomplished. Thank you to all who have joined and paid your annual dues. We are currently at 42% for parent participation and 95% participation by teachers. I know we can get these parent numbers up. Strong interaction, teamwork, and partnership between families and teachers creates the optimal environment for student success. If you forgot to pay your dues, HERE'S an easy link. Every month, I will highlight what’s been going on at each site and where your PTA dues have been spent. This is your PTA, I want to respect your time and contributions and serve with transparency.
