From Reed Union School District Board President, Jacqueline Jaffee

Tuesday, May 9, 2023

Dear RUSD,

On behalf of the board, I am extremely pleased to announce that the district and the Reed District Teachers Association (RDTA) have reached a tentative agreement on a labor contract for the 2023-24 and 2024-2025 school years. If approved by the Marin County Office of Education, RDTA and the school board, this agreement will provide our dedicated staff significant salary improvements in the coming two years and allow the district to continue to be an extremely attractive place to work. Here are some of the details of the tentative agreement:

  • A 10% salary increase for the 2023-2024 school year.
  • A 5% salary increase for the 2024-2025 school year effective July 1, 2024.
  • An additional 3% salary increase for the 2024-2025 school year effective January 1, 2025.
  • Higher stipends for “teacher leaders."
  • Increases to stipends for Masters degrees and Doctorate degrees.
  • A $2,500 signing bonus for new district certificated hires.

It is anticipated that Board consideration of the agreement will take place at our June 6th regular meeting.

We recognize and appreciate the hard work of both negotiating teams. In addition, all parties recognize the benefits of having this process completed before the end of the school year. Thank you to all of our families for your support as together we navigated this important conversation.

In community,

Jacqueline Jaffee

Board President
