It was so great to see so many families at Bel Aire’s Book Fair, Family Night & Fall Festival. It really made it feel like Fall. Big congratulations to Ms. Heather Johnson, Ms. Rian Lynam, Ms. Monica Ramirez , Ms. Vanessa Seawright and Janette Kreinberg for earning tenure and being recognized for your service at the RUSD School Board meeting.

Safety - Our first district wide drill was a success. The school sites did a beautiful job of practicing earthquake procedures. We added our Emergency Command Center with district wide communications. We gathered input around the pros and cons of the communication, and we’ll make some improvements before the next drill. The second district wide drill will take place on the morning of December 5th.
Playgrounds - Reed Elementary will be the first to have two new play structures installed around December. The Board has also approved a new playground structure for Bel Aire. This installation will likely occur this summer. So excited about this progress!
YouthTruth Survey - Please watch for the YouthTruth survey link. This is the survey we use in RUSD to assess school culture and connectedness. Please plan to spend 15 minutes. The survey will open on October 31st. We look forward to your input.
All-In Thanksgiving Link - If you are a family looking for help this Thanksgiving, please follow this link. All-In is helping to support families to put a meal on the table for Thanksgiving.

YouthTruth Survey Coming Soon - Next week, we will be asking for 15 minutes of your time to complete an online survey that will help us improve your child’s school. We have asked YouthTruth - a nonprofit organization that supports hundreds of schools and districts across the county – to conduct an anonymous survey on our behalf. The survey will be taken online and will be accessed via a survey URL that we will send out on October 31st. We ask that one member of each household fill out the survey. If you have more than one child who attends the same school, you may respond to the survey multiple times - one time per child. Your responses are anonymous, and they will be combined with the responses of other parents and guardians before being shared back with school and district leadership. We sincerely thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. It is a gift that helps us continually improve.
