Dear Bel Aire Families,

Tomorrow, 10/6, we are pleased to offer an opportunity to participate in a grade-level talk for parents of 4th graders from 8:30 - 9:30 in the Board Room. The meeting will be led by Dr. Gold and facilitated by Mr. DiCosmo. This will be an opportunity to hear about what is typical for children at this age, raise topics you and other parents have questions about, and start the critical process of networking with other parents of third grade children. Dr. Gold will share several topical articles and take questions. Please sign in at the office.

  • 5th Grade parents are invited to a grade-level talk next Thursday, 10/13.
  • 3rd Grade parents are invited to a grade-level talk on Thursday, 10/20.

While you are putting important events on your calendar, please be sure to add Thursday, October 20th for our annual Fall Festival. The PTA has been planning a spectacular event with games, food, crafts, and fun for the whole family. See below to sign up to help.

Parking Reminder

Do not park along hill leading up to Bel Aire (see pictures below)--it creates an unsafe condition for drivers going up and coming down.  If you are picking up your child from an after school activity, you may park in any of the parking lots. Parking along any red curb is prohibited .

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping everyone safe.

We need volunteers in order to make this a successful night. Please sign up for a volunteer shift at: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0D44A9A82BA4F94-2022

We need donations for a recycled Pumpkin art project. Items needed - bottle caps, buttons, fabric samples, yarn, hobby supplies, old jewelry, ribbon, string, trim, yarn, wallpaper, wire and other cool stuff! Drop donations in the box marked "FALL FEST RECYCLED ART SUPPLIES' by the Bel Aire office.  Donations needed by 10/17.

Event Survey: As we prepare for the event, we need your help with this brief survey so we have enough food & games for the whole family.

Safe Routes to SchoolInternational Walk and Roll to School day is Wednesday, October 12! “Fall” into a good habit, help decrease traffic, and do something positive for the environment by walking, biking, scooting, or taking the bus to school. All participants will earn a prize, and you can also enter the very cool raffle, so get those sneakers on and we’ll see you on October 12!

BUDDY UP is a new contest to get students to walk (park and walk), bike, carpool or ride the bus together. Now through October 31, sign up your group of two or more students from neighboring families to travel to or from school.  Tell us your success story!

Habits are more likely to stick when families support each other. There’s safety in numbers and groups are more easily seen by drivers. Best of all, friendships and fun memories are formed! There will be a $50 award for 5 winning groups. Notifications will be sent out in early November!

Please see the following information regarding the recommended biking/walking route as well as some general safety tips. Please also note that Safe Routes to School recommends that students walk their bikes in a safe manner through the parking lot at the Cove Shopping Center. As you know, this area is highly trafficked and it would be easy to miss a biker so walking your bike and using the crosswalks is recommended. https://www.saferoutestoschools.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Bel-Aire-routes-10-21.pdf

Bel Aire PTA: Please join us for our next meeting on Friday, October 7th at 8:30 a.m.(Note: date change due to Yom Kippur, otherwise Bel Aire PTA meetings are generally on the first Wednesday of the month)  For more information, contact Bel Aire PTA Site Chair Laura Smith, lauracarolinesmith@gmail.com
