Dear Reed Families and Caregivers,

Please be sure your Reed child's carseat is on the right side of the car (closest to the curb) so that when you pull through carline the volunteers can safely help your child out of their seat while parents remain in the car.

Staff Parking Area

Please do not park in the designated staff parking lot above school/carline.  These spots are reserved for staff, including some who are scheduled to arrive after school has begun.

PreK Bus Passes

Per CA law, PreK students may not ride the school bus until they are 5 years old.  Please go to website a week or so before your child’s 5th birthday to purchase a pass so you receive it in time. The Reed AM routes have space so there’s no worry about selling out at this time.  Passes will be prorated.  If you have questions, please contact the Program Manager at

Last Friday we had many families pull students out of school early.  Please keep in mind that the day before holiday breaks is a mandatory school day.  Removing students from school during the day is disruptive for the students and staff, and your children miss out on important curriculum and activities such as 2nd grade clubs (which happen at the end of the day).  Thank you!

Get ready to join us at Reed Elementary on September 29 from 5:00 – 7:00pm for food, music, and fun alongside a cardboard town created by Reed Students! To participate in the event, children should create and decorate a "box" at home that will be brought to the event and become part of our Reed TOWNTASTIC town. The box can be turned into anything in our town: a building, bus, boat, park, etc. TOWNTASTIC  is a fun, family friendly community-building event and all families, caretakers, and siblings are welcome.  There will be food and beverages available for purchase. Please contact or Argavan Nilforoush ( or Michelle Thomsen at ( if you have any questions.  We look forward to seeing you there!

The first Walk and Roll to School day will be next Wednesday, September 14! “Fall” into a good habit by walking, biking, scooting, or taking the bus to school and earn a prize. You can also enter to win a very cool raffle prize, so get those sneakers on and we’ll see you next Wednesday!
